2020 has been a challenging year in many ways. We had a pandemic, a racial awakening, and a political election in a divided USA.

In the midst of that, I think there’s one thing that has remained consistent for me. It’s the joy of continuing to clown, sometimes virtually, sometimes in a hospital setting, sometimes in person with the opera. I’ve witnessed what levity and humor can do even in these difficult and trying times. This brings me to the #givethegiggles campaign from Clowns Without Borders.

Clowns Without Borders creates moments of connection for people experiencing crisis. We work to bring laughter where it is needed most. Last year, in December of 2019, I traveled with Clowns Without Borders on the  Hurricane relief tour of the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian damaged the islands in the fall of 2019. Today, I’m asking for your support to help continue this work. We are continuing to search for ways to do  this work during the COVID pandemic.
